Virtual Home Update

I've been working on my virtual apartment today.  I've reworked the cabinets to more closely resemble our real life kitchen and added the fridge and floor.  I've still got to put in the china cabinet on the left wall.  I even put in a microwave and coffee maker (although we have a Keurig and I haven't seen any virtual ones out there).

I'm also adding a pic of my Toon Avatar, RobbyBobby, in the Living room.  I wanted to see how the new lights worked with him.

Cut Away View

I've started working on the kitchen of my virtual apartment. There's a lot left to do, of course...like putting in a tile floor and the china cabinet against the wall. I'm trying some new light settings as well.  I'm also adding a fuller view of the Living Room.

A Closer Look

I actually made this render early today, but forgot to post it.  It shows a little more of the room.

Our Living Room

So, by extension, it's also the living room for our avatars, RobbyBobby and John Michael. I'm slowly rebuilding our apartment in DAZ Studio 4.5.  I've done this a few times before (duh), but this time I'm taking my time and trying to get things more to actual scale.

Toon John Michael and Toon RobbyBobby

Just for shits and giggles...here's the Toon version.  Same pose...same outfits.

John Michael and RobbyBobby

I've changed my avatar (again).  This one is remarkably like a picture of me in my early 20's...so many centuries ago!  LOL

AHWTB Volume 1 Number 1

This is my first official At Home with the Boys comic.  I kept the background blank deliberately...I didn't want to take away from the characters (RobbyBobby and John Michael) for this first effort.  I've been carrying the premise around in the back of my head for some time now.  If there is anyone actually reading this, I would appreciate your comments.  Thanks.

Just Hanging Around

It's been a long time since I posted anything...I've been remiss.  So, this is Eric.  You've seen him before...he's one of my favorite custom morphs.  I hope he's one of your's, too...that's assuming that someone is actually looking at this.  LOL

RB and JM

New Toon RobbyBobby and old Toon John Michael.

New Toon RobbyBobby

I haven't posted in awhile...been too busy with life stuff.  Anyway, I wasn't too happy with my toon avatar, so I did a new one.  This one is based on my M3 version of RobbyBobby, on Genesis, and then toonified.  Is that a word?

AHWTB-Supersuit

This was just a quick pic to demonstrate the flexibility of the new DAZ Genesis Supersuit.  My At Home with the Boys characters are modeling some of the out of  the box super hero styles.

AHWTB-Gang

Here's a group shot of the At Home With the Boys Gang.  From left to right we have Christopher, Eric, John Michael, RobbyBobby, George and Cameron.  By the time I finally got all the characters into the scene and posed, I didn't bother to color the underpants. LOL

Christopher

Another new guy for the Toon stable.  Meet Christopher...

George the Bartender

I haven't had much time to play with my 3D world.  Today I decided to create a new character - George, the Bartender.  Ya gotta have a cute bartender!!

Three's a Crowd

I've decided that I'm going to try doing another comic strip.  These are the three main characters - John Michael and RobbyBobby are together, but RobbyBobby has the hots for Eric.  Of course, Eric only has the hots for himself. LOL

Mini Me in a Mini Scene

Figured that I try out a clothed version of the Toon RobbyBobby.

Me vs Toon Me

One of the things that I'm lovin' about DAZ Studio is the ability to mix and match different characters.  The base DAZ Studio character is the Genesis model, which can be morphed into an endless number of variations - male or female.  There is a toon character called Jason that is built off the mesh, so I added that to the M4 morphs and the RobbyBobby face that I built in Facegen.  The result is a new Toon mini-me.  I brought the height closer to the default to compare against my RobbyBobbyGenesis character.  What do you think?  You know, if I ever got an answer I'd be shocked. LOL

You Don't Own Me

I think that I'm finally getting the hang of DAZ Studio. Too bad I don't have a lot of time to play with it during the week.

Still learning about rendering with DAZ Studio.  I've got a long way to go...

Meet the New Guys

I'm still familiarizing myself with DAZ 3D's Genesis character and Facegen.  Here are some new guys that I developed with these tools.  Can you guess which one is based off a photograph of me?

Trying Something New

DAZ 3D has been giving away copies of their DAZ Studio 4 program, so, of course, I had to get it.  I've been a Poser user since 2001, but free is free!!  Anyway, I've also been using a demo version of a program called Facegen, where you can take a picture of someone and create a 3D object from it.  They recently released a version of their exporter that can export morphs in a format that DAZ Studio can utilize on their proprietary Genesis figures.  Since I got the Studio for free, today I coughed up the $99 for the Facegen exporter.  This is a new character that I created today.  He's actually a mixture of several different faces.  Are you bored yet?  I never know because no one ever leaves a comment and, as far as I know, the comments are set up properly.

Work in Progress

In case anyone is actually watching (LOL), I'm continuing with my project to create my apartment in 3D.  I've added the den and am starting to find accessories.  I put up the walls in the front, but made a couple invisible for effect.

Floor Plan

I figured that I might as well throw in what I have so far for the floor plan.

Work in Progress

I decided to scrap the last model of our apartment and start from scratch. This time around, I'm trying to pay more attention to the little details...like the fact that the walls are white and I put in the coat closet in the living room. I even put up the walls for the kitchen doorway.  To the far right in the pic is the walk in closet that I use for my office; with the door to the bathroom just past it.

There's still a lot to do. I have to put up the walls to the den, which is to the right of the dining area and the bedroom with the double walk in closets will be to the far right.  This is still far from being to scale and looks a lot larger than it is in real life.
